My name is Leeann Hynes and I’ve always had a love of creativity and humor. I learned very early in life that my two favorite things to do were to paint and to make people laugh. In elementary school, I always won those grocery store art contests as well as class clown.
In college, I studied for a fine art degree and then went on to work for a jewelry designer in Raleigh, North Carolina for many years. After falling in with an fantastic group of creative women, I started producing The Handmade Market for fourteen years. We produced it twice a year and it truly showcased the amazing work of so many talented designers from near and far. In 2009, I opened a brick and mortar shop called Epona & Oak with my two sisters. It was a great experience and a dream fulfilled but the daily grind of a running a business wore us out after a few years. When we closed up shop, I finally found myself able to paint again after nearly twenty years.
